Last Monday was a special day for CADFA because we had some special guests : Jibril Rajoub, the Ministry of Sport in Palestine and Manuel Hassassian, the Palestinian ambassador in UK.
Jibril Rajoub had to do some visits in UK and France. Shahd, who had got in touch with him, asked him to come to visit us in our office. The meeting was attended by Nandita (director of CADFA), some previous volunteers involved in Palestine and the current volunteers involved in London and also some CADFA friends.
He didn't know about CADFA before so we explainded to him about the aims of our organization and its different actions and projects.
He said that he was very interested and offered us his support and help in developping our many ideas into concrete projects.
We would like to thanks him and the ambassador to have come to visit us. We were really happy to meet them and we hope to keep the link between them and us.
James and Lawson, a CADFA friend and a previous cadfa volunteer in Palestine, made a video-recording of the visit. We will post it as soon as it is ready! So that it will become clearer for you than only this short dscription....
Enjoy!

EVS training, work, and trips
In
the last two weeks, I've had the chance to work and travel to different
locations in England .
Our EVS training took place in Nottingham , a
very friendly town by the river which we had the time to explore with the other
volunteers. Our group at the training was quite small, but we met people from France , Spain ,
and Italy and had the chance
to talk about the differences between our countries and England .
Yesterday,
I also went to Brighton, to help with translating for 3 Palestinians who are
traveling in the UK
and giving talks about their lives and situation in our country. They were
telling about the Deir Yassin massacre, in which one of the 3 speakers lost 11
people of her family. It's great to have such a varied timetable, working every
day on different projects and meeting amazing people along the way.
Arabic lessons at CADFA
Arabic
lessons at CADFA
Two
weeks ago, we started the new Arabic lessons at the office! Although we just
had a couple of people for the first session, it was fun, and also interesting
for us volunteers to teach for the first time!
We
will now conduct Arabic classes every Monday and Friday between 6.30 and 8.30,
with the help of books of Palestinian dialect, which CADFA is also selling in
the office. It will be a good way for beginners - and non - to learn new words
and practise speaking with native Palestinians! So please join us if you
haven't done so already and I hope to meet many old and new friends at our
future classes.
